heralciness:

Finding foundations and concealers in pale shades can be a challenge. For alabaster skin, most makeup brands don’t offer anything close to a match - MAC NC15, for example, is much too dark for the fairest skin tones. For a long time, I didn’t even think I could wear foundation due to color availability. Here are some of the lightest shades I’ve found, with swatches!

Foundations, from left to right:

-NYX LM01 Pale (the non-HD liquid makeup) - Not the #1 palest I’ve found, but much whiter than most brands offer. The formula is fairly sheer. *Appears to be discontinued

-MakeUpForEver Mat Velvet 15 (shown: sample) - My top pick for liquid foundation. Goes on bright, vivid, and opaque!

-Maybelline FITme! #110 - This liquid base has a faint hint of an olive tone. The formula is somewhat sheer. Priced at under $10, it’s the cheapest foundation on this list!

-Everyday Minerals in Fawn (original glo formula, applied with a cotton ball) - Very pale and yellowy, has sort of a lemon cream color to it.

-Everyday Minerals in Ivory (semi-matte formula, applied with a cotton ball) - The darkest foundation pictured, Ivory has somewhat of a warm beige tone. I would say it would fit in with the lightest colors of most mainstream brands; it’s light but not really pale.

-Everyday Minerals in Fair (semi-matte formula, applied with a cotton ball) - This is my favorite for daily wear! Despite the names, Fair is much lighter than Ivory. All Everyday Minerals foundations can be worn either sheer or full-coverage depending on application (brush vs. cotton ball)!

Concealers:

-NYX in Porcelain (discontinued wand formula pictured; same shade also available in stick and jar forms): The color is pretty comparable to LM01, maybe slightly lighter. It is fairly sheer for a concealer product.

-Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer in 1.0 - Definitely the palest product on this list, it is very opaque and great for under-eye use.

-theBalm Time Balm in Lighter than Light - Contrary to the name, I would say it’s only barely paler than the lightest shades of most brands. Very blendable and buildable…also has anti-aging properties!
